Leadership, communication, resilience, and problem-solving are four of the most important skills your child can learn before they reach adolescence. Cool Connections empowers children with the proper tools to acquire these much coveted skills, through interactive experiences including board games, drama, comedy, movement, music, scavenger adventures, and acts of kindness.
Within this four session program 5th graders will work with high school leadership students, under the guidance of CARES staff to develop a strong sense of self as they transition into middle school.
Highlights:
- Provides a friendly environment where kids are asked to play games and make crafts as they get to know one another
- Employs peer mentoring to help children to strengthen their communication and socialization skills
- Provides a healthy and safe environment for kids to explore and test their own limits
- Offers a bridge for children with anxiety about moving to Saxe, since it teaches children about making introductions and meeting new friends.
Dates and Times:
Open to 5th graders, this four-session program meets once a week for four weeks in the spring and fall.
