"Navigating Teen Party Scene" in Back-to-Back Talks
Do you lay awake worrying that your teen will not arrive home safely? Do you feel ALONE as the strictest parent in town? Are you reactive rather than proactive when it comes to parenting your teenager? Do you wish you had a better handle on the current party scene? Do you wish your teen would exhibit greater reliability? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then “Navigating the Teen Party Scene” is for you.

Come learn what constitutes the party scene our youth experience in New Canaan, and how we can navigate its ups and downs. This program will cover some of the factors that contribute to alcohol and other drug use among teens and the protective factors that help minimize negative outcomes. We’ll discuss developing and executing house rules and setting and enforcing age-appropriate limits and boundaries. Finally, we’ll cover legal responsibilities and how to balance your teen’s independence with healthy risk-taking.

Date: Wednesday, February 10th
Morning:  9:30 a.m. at the New Canaan High School - Wagner Room
Evening:  7:00 p.m. at the Outback Teen Center

These presentations are open to the public at no charge.
